The DRG team provided design-assistance quality control and project management for manufacturing, delivery, installation, and interior finish of the Medical Educational Training Center (METC) dormitories for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Fort Sam Houston army base in San Antonio, Texas.

The five (5), 4-story complexes, totaling 1,154,600 square feet meet the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Antiterrorist Force Protection requirements including progressive collapse features. The living units (600 per building) are one-bedroom efficiencies with private baths and no kitchen. The design of these buildings combines permanent modular construction with traditional site-build construction elements. The exterior is split-faced block with stucco, providing a pleasant, contemporary appearance.
